Moonlit Dragon, Part Three

I've been working on my dragon faithfully, during lunch at work. I'm very happy with how it's progressing, even just fifteen minutes at a time.

Of course, since I don't get to work on it that much, it's moving slowly, but that's ok. I'm enjoying taking a few minutes of my break to do something creative, and it keeps me from planning too far ahead.

From the first scratch of my pencil, to what it's becoming, it's been spontaneous, and that's the way I like it.

Nothing major here; just a bit more shading work on the dragon itself, and laying down some texture in the night around it.

I'm really enjoying this...

I'll continue to keep you updated on my progress, and anything new I think you might be interested in.

  1. *gasp!* The spiral shading around the sun is a brilliant touch, as is the detail you've added to the dragon. This is the coolest part of the art making process to me - seeing the progress from an idea to reality. Very cool :) Thank you so much for sharing, I'm looking forward to seeing more, for sure! :D

  2. Thanks, Kelly!
It's actually going to be the moon, but since I haven't done much detail on it yet, it's not quite clear.
I'm glad you're enjoying it; I'm having a great time with it, and I love sharing my work!

  5. Wow, it's looking great, Brad.

But if you're working on this dragon, how am I supposed to get my pic of Elli from you in April? ;0)

  6. Joe, I was going for what the cow looks like after the milk has been spiked...

Not to worry, Kaycee. The dragon is strictly a lunch-break project. Other stuff, I'm working on at home.

    When the kids let me.;)
